Porcelain Veneers

Florida: Jacksonville Beach, Ponte Vedra Beach

Jacksonville Porcelain VeneersPorcelain veneers are thin shells of composite material that are affixed to the front of damaged teeth, giving teeth a clean, new surface. We also use super-thin Lumineers to correct many cosmetic dentistry problems.

Porcelain veneers and Lumineers can be used to resolve a host of problems, including the following:

  • Stained or yellowed teeth
  • Cracked and chipped teeth
  • Teeth that are slightly crooked
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Instantly straighten crooked teeth without traditional braces

Porcelain veneers are a very popular choice with patients who have a few minor problems with their smile, as porcelain veneers provide a clean, natural looking new surface for the teeth.

Cosmetic Dentist Dr. Williams is very meticulous in his work and involves the patient in each step. Before any adjustments are made to your teeth, Dr. Williams has already designed the porcelain veneers from models of your mouth. You will be asked to approve the shape, size, and color of your new smile as it is designed. Your porcelain veneers will be placed and your approval will be needed before the porcelain veneers are bonded to your natural enamel.

This eliminates any surprises at how your new smile will look because you have approved it at many different steps along the way. Being this methodical and meticulous assures that you will love your smile.

Applying Porcelain Veneers

The process of preparing the teeth and applying porcelain veneers requires two visits.

During the first visit, your cosmetic dentist will do any required shaping of your teeth to create a straighter surface if your teeth are uneven, and to adjust the thickness of the teeth to accommodate for the thickness of the porcelain veneers. In some cases, no adjustment is needed, and the porcelain veneers can be bonded directly to your teeth. Your dentist will then make an impression of the teeth to use as a template for the veneers. The porcelain veneers are then custom designed to your specifications for color, consistency, translucency, and for a precise fit with your teeth.

Once the porcelain veneers are created, you will return for a second visit. You will be asked to inspect the veneers to ensure they meet your standards, and then the veneers are bonded to the surface of your teeth using an adhesive, which is set and hardened using a very bright light.
